I'm with you Jerry....I've got a Filson that I've been using for dove that I wouldn't trade for anything...Simple, easy to use, and IMHO just looks cool Very Happy

Game Vests Empty Game Vests

Post by JB Thu Apr 10, 2008 4:54 am

I despise the stereotypical "game vest" that actually looks like a vest with pockets all over it. I've had several and have hunted the uplands enough to know that I hate them. They're bulky, they get in the way, they never sit right, and they look like a non-hunter designed them. I've instead learned to love the upland game bags made by Filson or Boyt Harness Co. that have the over-the-shoulder straps, game bag in the back, and a couple of shell pockets in the front.

Also, I hate to wear blaze orange when hunting upland birds. I do because I have to, but it's not natural!!!!! I know all of the theories on safety.... I hate to be seen....I want to blend in. Give me brown cotton duck cloth any day!!!
